Day 352 of 365 - 14th of December, 2011
For breakfast we had eggs and bread and coffee. We walked down to the Galakiwi office and got our wetsuits for the day. We got on the really nice boat from yesterday and made our way out to the snorkeling places.
We stopped at a place called Sea Lion Cove (or something like that) and we snorkeled. I got to see our main tour guide Tim swim with a sea lion. It was so cute and cool. We got back on the boat and headed out to Kicker Rock. In that time Ms Stackhouse told me I needed to eat and my relationship with food was unhealthy. Lol. I ignored her.
We got to kicker rock and it was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. It is two enormous rocks in the middle of the ocean. It’s actually beautiful. Ms Lucas was telling us how cold it would be and telling us how we need to have strong minds. I got in the water and it wasn’t even that cold. Lol. First thing I see when I look down into my goggles: sharks. There were so many swimming below us it was so fucking amazing. Then I looked to my left and there was a massive sea turtle less than a metre below me. I got out really early though because Bryley got scared of the sharks and I took her back to the boat. I dried off, put sunscreen on and warmed up in the sun. It was so lovely just lying in the sun. Everyone got back in the boat and we made our way to this little bay. The boat was anchored and we ate lunch. Most of us sat on the front of the boat for about two and a half hours. It was one of the best afternoons I’ve ever had. It was so picturesque and rejuvenating. My tan is really becoming visible which is exciting.
We took the boat back to the town and then we split off to meet back at the Galakiwi office at 6:30 for dinner. Went back to the hotel, showered, got a photo developed for Tim and explored the main street of town.
All the girls in my year met for drinks and we finalized our tattoo expose routine (Tim has a silver fern tattoo on his arm so we all drew them on)
We met for dinner, showed Tim our tattoos, Skyped times wife, taught him the wonders of photobooth and went out to dinner.
I ate SOOOOOOOO much at dinner. But it was so good. I had grilled shrimp and my god, it was delicious. We all had a great dinner, we laughed so much and just enjoyed each others company. Isabelle and Emily had an eating competition. We then got ice cream and then came back to the hotel. Now we are having a ‘GNI’ (girls night in) and we have all moisturized, had our faces washed and cleaned, listened to relaxing music and just chilled out. A perfect end to our last night on the Galapagos Islands.
Tomorrow morning we fly back to Quito. Tomorrow is also the cut off day for my final cutdown diet. Only. Eat. Half. Goodnight.
